Imposition Wizard 3.6.3 beta
26 Feb 2025
Another beta version of Imposition Wizard 3.6 with new features and fixes. Read on for more details.
New Preprocessors
We added two new preprocessors to the first panel:
- Shuffle — lets you reorder pages in any layout, including booklets;
- Slice Pages — lets you cut the input page into pieces and use each piece as a separate page.
Preprocessors is a very flexible feature to prepare the document for imposition, give them a try if you haven’t done it yet.

Layout Changes
The layout panel was re–designed to put the layout selector on top. The gaps options were moved down and the layout properties section was moved up a bit. This adds some order to the panel for your convenience.
Shuffle layout is now deprecated. This means it will be eventually removed in one of the future updates of Imposition Wizard. Consider using the Shuffle Preprocessor instead.
Dutch Cut layout got more alignment options for the extra block. You can now align it by both sides of the main block, or even spread them evenly along it.
Other Changes
You can now select startup preset in settings. Imposition Wizard will use that preset for every PDF file you load. Note that the changes you made are not saved to that preset, so this is a good way to have a predictable stable layout on startup instead of the last used one. The feature is optional and is off by default.
There’s another new option in settings that lets you specify the default output folder for imposed files. If specified, Imposition Wizard will always use that folder as a starting point for saving imposed files.
You can now completely override the built–in list of sheet sizes or put your own presets on top of the built–in list.
Automatic color bars got better spot color detection in complex PDF files. Also, color bars and other marks are now displayed even if page previews are hidden.
Finally, there’s more minor changes and fixes:
- Acrobat plugin installer improved on Mac to better detect Acrobat installations;
- Booklet creep calculator improved to use the selected units of measurement;
- PDF preview got faster, especially for complex and heavy PDF files;
- Fixed missing bleeds when the content block is rotated;
- Fixed menu shortcuts that sometimes didn’t work properly.
