Imposition Wizard 3.6.6 beta

26 Jun 2025

The update brings some new features, a number of bugfixes and addressing the Acrobat sandbox.

Changes to the plugin

In order to address the numerous issues with Acrobat sandboxing we changed the way the Acrobat plugin is installed. No more symbolic links, we use a copy of the plugin instead.

This fixes weird Acrobat crashes on Mac and overall makes the user experience more predictable. On the other hand the plugin is not updated automatically with the application, this needs to be done manually when updating Imposition Wizard.

Let’s see how it goes and work from there.

Improvements and bugfixes

Besides that, here’s what has been added:

  • Scaling preprocessor got more options for proportional scaling;
  • Bleeds preprocessor got “inner” bleeds option;
  • Collating marks got more options for placing numbers;
  • Presets panel got search field always visible;
  • New preflight check added to test if marks overlap pages.

And here’s what has been fixed:

  • Fixed automatic grid and collating marks placement when the content block is rotated;
  • Fixed black screen when dealing with presets;
  • Fixed zero inner bleeds between the grid copies;
  • Fixed slow processing of large PDF files;
  • Fixed “failed to validate” error in Batch Processing mode;
  • Improved handling of problem PDF files in Acrobat mode.
