This update makes the user interface more responsive and noticeably speeds up Acrobat mode.

Better User Experience

The PDF imposition engine has been updated to streamline processing and move most heavy tasks to the background. This keeps the interface responsive, even while layouts are recalculating.

The Acrobat backend has also been improved to reduce processing times on large files, so you can expect a solid speedup on heavy PDFs (thousands of pages and more).

Other Changes

Along with the speed and responsiveness improvements, this update includes a few smaller refinements:

Fixed saving of the “Skip existing files” setting in Hot Folders;
Added the --hot-folders command-line parameter to launch IW directly in Hot Folder mode;
Trailing decimal zeros are now removed in numeric values used in custom texts;
Added the {bleeds} custom text variable to output imposed bleed values;
Added additional custom text variables for displaying specific bleed values;
Fixed the {pages} variable in custom texts for preprocessed pages;
Added a separate bleeds option to the “Setup bleeds” preprocessor;
